The Stranger Revealed

On the latest “Once Upon A Time” we finally learned who August the writer is, for real. The show started with Henry realizing that there was a new story added to the book, Pinocchio’s story . . . .
In it, we saw how the Blue Fairy brought Pinocchio to life from a wooden puppet and made him a real boy. We also learned it was her who asked Gepetto to build the cabinet to transport Emma to the new world. We also learned there was space for two people to go, the plan was for Snow and Emma to go through. Gepetto  Fairytale Landhowever would not build it unless one spot went to Pinocchio. The Blue Fairy didn’t like this, but this was the deal. Pinocchio would protect Emma, and they would tell everyone there was only a spot for one person to go through, Snow and Charming would never know the truth.

Back in the real world, August felt Emma was too focused on getting Henry back, she had lost site of what her true mission was. He knew Emma was going to Mr. Gold for legal advice to get Henry back, he advised Gold to turn her away. He knew she’d then come to him for help, and he’d put her back on the path. When that happened, he took her out to the woods and to a roadside cafe, to tell her their story. He told her that he was the little boy who found her. He told her that he came from the same world she did, they were both transported through a magic wardrobe and ended up in this hollowed out tree in the forest. He said he stayed with her in a foster home for awhile, but when it seemed clear the only kid the family cared about was Baby Emma, he and some others ran off.

August says he left, he went far away, he began to forget everything until the pains started. The pains started at the exact moment Emma decided to stay in Storybook, the exact moment time began to pass again on the clock. August said he was reminded how far he had strayed from his promise to look after her. He then began making his way back as well. Emma basically thought he was insane, she can’t believe he thinks he’s a fairytale character. August knew how to prove it, he showed her his leg, which had turned back to wood. However Emma saw nothing but a regular leg. August believed it was because she was in such deep denial . . . .

Henry lashed out at Regina when she wanted to pull him out of Mary Margaret’s class. Mary Margaret also had her own speech to Regina, claiming she felt sorry for her because her anger and revenge schemes won’t make her truly happy. Regina then set her sights on David/Charming. She decided to try and seduce him and win him away from Mary Margaret to make her pay, and show Henry that Snow and Charming would not get their happy ever after. It didn’t work, David didn’t go there . . .

The end of the show had Emma picking up Henry and deciding to just flee Storybrook with him. They would start life over somewhere else . . .

There is only one episode left before the finale. Supposedly there is a shocking death in the finale, one that might not be so permanent. The previews show Emma holding a sword to Regina’s throat. Will Regina die? Or is that a apple pastry in Henry's hand that will send him to his death.  We also have the return of the Huntsman, Belle and Maleficent to look forward to! It’s gonna get insane . . . and we still don’t know who or where Rumple’s son is.

Who is August Wayne Booth?

There are a lot of theories floating around out there as to who he is, and why he can leave StoryBrooke, when no one else can (besides Emma). Some crazy theories out there like :

1) He's the son Rumple lost (Look, I'd love to see Baelfire come back, but this is not the guy. Bael had beautiful brown eyes ... )

2) He's Henry as an adult (Then why does he seem to have a love interest on Henry's mom? Ewe!

3) He's Henry's father - then why doesn't Emma remember him?

4) One of the Brothers Grimm - Maybe. He is a writer.

No--there's only 1 theory that makes any sense in my mind : Pinocchio!

This is a photo of Pinocchio working with his father, Gepetto, in their workshop. Remember Gepetto made the enchanted wardrobe that spirited Emma away, and protected her from Evil Queen's The Dark Curse. In the next episode Gepetto will be making a deal with the Blue Fairy to protect his son.

My theory is: The deal was to turn Pino back into the enchanted wooden puppet so that he may travel with  the baby Emma, but of course with a price because all magic comes with a price.. his life.

Pino travels to SB as a enchanted piece of wood/puppet to a land where magic does not exist, which means on his arrival the spell breaks and he turns back into a boy of flesh allowing him to grow as a real boy. Not unlike when Archie/Jimminey who got here and reverted back into a human. The 7 year old who found the baby on the side of the road.

The BF and Gepetto told Pino what his mission would be.... tell no one and keep track of Emma, because at her 28th Bday the curse will began to lift and he will need only magic to save him.

The book: Pino put the story of Rumple in the book to gain Rumples trust, hoping that he still had magic to rescue him. But Rumple can't ... at the moment.

Evidence :
A) The coloring is about right : blue eyes and brown hair, lighter as a kid.
B) He's good with his hands, learned a lot in the workshop with Gepetto. In a later episode, we see August fixing / amending Henry's storybook -- in a workshop somewhere in Storybrooke. He hasn't forgotten what he learned from his father!
C) There are numerous instances where Mr. Booth says things like, "I cannot tell a lie," and then he tells some whopper about lemurs in Nepal (what?). Yeah--maybe he has traveled the world, but there are no lemurs in Nepal!
D) He seems to be able to come and go, like Emma, whereas all other residents of Storybrooke are trapped there. Their cars veer off the road anytime they get near the city limits.
E) His leg problem. This I think his body is stiffening and turning back to wood.

Other Observations :

1) We have seen Pinnochio as a young (7-year-old?) boy in at least a couple of scenes in Fairytale Land. We have not, though, seen a boy in Storybrooke who could be Pinnochio's counterpart. We have seen Gepetto's and Jiminy Cricket's counterparts in Storybrooke...why not Pinnochio's?

2) If they went through the portal to escape the curse at the same time, 7-year-old Pinnochio certainly would have been in the right place at the right time to "find" baby Emma and take her to someplace where she would be safe.

3) If Pinnochio did not end up in Storybrooke like the other Fairytale characters, he would have aged just like Emma has. August looks like he's in his mid-30s, so the math would be right (age 7 + 28 years = 35).

4) Regina commented that there was something familiar about August when he first showed up in Storybrooke. Presumably she knew (or at least had seen) Pinnochio when he was a child in Fairytale Land, so it wouldn't be a stretch that she thought the adult version of Pinnochio resembled someone she had seen before.

5) Since Pinnochio lived in Fairytale Land and had knowledge of what happened there before the curse took effect, it makes sense that he would be the one who wrote the stories in Henry's book. It also makes sense that he showed up in Storybrooke 28 years later to add to the book. He no doubt knew that Emma was going to show up then as the "savior" to shake things up and that the final battle would begin then. Before then, nothing new would have happened for him to write about...

In this scene from the Heart of Darkness episode, AWB sits in Grannie's diner with Henry. AWB tells Henry that the stories in his book really happened. They are "as real as I am," he says. I also see a little eye roll, there, that totally reminds me of the puppet! Pinocchio was a wooden puppet who wanted to be real. This is another way that his character "leaks out" in Storybrooke. Only time will tell if I'm right about this!

As of The Return episode aired this week, we now know that August is NOT Rumple's long-lost son, Baelfire. They didn't explicitly come out and say he was Pinocchio. However, the donkey paperweight in August's room is a pretty good indicator that he very likely IS Pinocchio.

I guess he keeps that little trinket around to remind him NOT to be a jackass. We all learn our lessons in life.

Here's the Pinocchio-Donkey Transformation scene from Disney's Pinocchio movie.

Now lets see what you got.

Who's going to die?

The new additional mystery question for OUAT seems to be "whose dying now"? I'm willing to bet it will be Sidney Glass a.k.a Mirror Mirror. (Giancarlo Esposito)

TV Line reports that Esposito has joined Revolution, an NBC pilot in contention for next season, in a lead role as Capt. Neville, “a hard-as-steel military man with a genteel southern manner who may not always be what he seems”.

The series has been described as a high-octane action drama following a group of characters struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.

Jon Favreau will be directing the pilot, which has currently not cast any other actors.

But, with Esposito’s starring role obviously having more importance over his recurring one, what does this mean forOnce Upon a Time? We’ve seen one character die already, and Sidney has been getting on the angry side of Regina. Could this mean the character will be the next one to meet the graveyard by season’s end? Or, will they simply re-cast the role?

I personally am not going to shed a tear nor morn the lost. Not only did I not like Sidney Glass, I did not like the fact that Esposito was cast as a love sick coward.

As for the FTL parts featuring Mirror Mirror, I don't think they will have too much of a problem computer generating a computerized character or replacing the actor behind the scene.

Fairy Tale Land

Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Joshua Dallas) are getting married. The Evil Queen (Lana Parilla) threatens the couple about an evil curse she intends to release upon them. The pregnant Snow White is scared about the curse and visits Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle). He claimed the Queen’s curse would take them to a terrible place with no happy endings.

Rumplestiltkin tells Snow White that her unborn daughter, Emma, will come rescue them when she is 28 years old. This will begin the final battle with the Queen. The Blue Fairy, Pinocchio, and Geppetto (Tony
Amendola) fashion a wardrobe that comes from a magical tree. This will only let one person avoid the curse from the Queen.

Intended to use the magical tree and escape the curse, Prince Charming offers it to Snow White and their unborn child. Just as the wardrobe is completing, Snow White goes into labor and gives birth to Emma. The Queen’s curse is unearthed the day Snow White gave birth. Prince Charming hurries and puts his newborn daughter into the magic wardrobe.

Shortly after, the Queen’s henchmen attack Price Charming. The Queen stood proudly over Prince Charming and Snow White as the curse forces them to “someplace horrible.”

Present Day

We meet Emma (Jennifer Morrison). She is 28 years old and very beautiful. We are first introduced to her as she is going on a date that happens to fall on her birthday.

We find out that she is actually a bail bond woman who tracked her “date” down because he skipped out on a bond. We now get the idea that Emma is one tough cookie. Later that night Emma is home celebrating her birthday alone. At her door is a little boy.

We are now introduced to 10-year-old Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) who has tracked Emma down. Henry is Emma’s biological son that has sought out the help of his birth mother. She agrees to escort him home to Storybrooke where he lives with his adoptive mother who we will find out bears a striking resemblance to none other than the Evil Queen.

Henry introduces Emma to a book of fairy tales and this is where her adventure begins.
